Re: Questions about ISA2004 and Active Directory

Phillip thanks for the info.
How would I go about hooking up
a winxp computer to use the gateway
of the ISA server?
In ISA server, I made a rule and all it has is ALL USERS.
Is there an anonymous user setting?
I've never heard of SecureNAT.
Thanks for the help.

1. Does ISA 2004 need Active Directory?

If you want security and simplicity? = Yes
If you don't care about authentication, or enjoy RADIUS Servers = No

2. If not, is it possible to have a regular winxp computer ip gateway
go through ISA 2004? (winxp computer not on a domain).

Yes.
A SecureNAT Client.
SecureNAT Clients are always anonynmous.
SecureNAT Clients are not capable of authenticating, they just follow the
"network routing path".
SecureNAT Client may use the ISA but will never actually know the ISA
exists. To them it is just another "router hop".
