Re: isa2kexport.exe

Well my sister used to live in taylorville while I lived in Decatur. I worked
at staley and now I live in Indiana and work in IT.

Yes I noticed right off the vast difference in 2000 and 2004, I originally
started creating the filters and rules manually and found that many of the
setting do not translate. So I was hoping that the utility to do more easily
what I have not been able to do. I had also read many cases where this
utility had worked great for some people.
My test system is not connected to the internet or my current network so I
can not be 100% sure that the results there will be exactly the same as the
ones in the real network. I was hoping some one with more firewall
experience could give me some insight.
Thanks

First of all I see that you have a wand.com? Are you from Decatur I used to
live there. Second of all so you have no idea how to do this? Why did you
respond?
Thanks

I have no idea. I never use that.
I can configure the rules myself and do it more dependably than using a
migration tool.

Since the ISA2004/2006 Rules design is totally different from ISA2000, I
create them myself and then I will "know" what I have and why I have it
there.

Even if I don't put it on a domain controller, do you know why I can not
import the settings I exported with the migration tool from ISA 2000?
Thanks

I currently have windows 2000 active directory with ISA 2000 installed.
I
am
in the process of building a windows 2003 SP1 domain controller to
replace
the current one. I want to install ISA 2004 on the new server and
import
the
ISA 2000 settings into the new ISA 2004 server. Well I downloaded the
isa2kexport.exe utility to export the old data into an xml file which
worked.
But it will not import into the new server with a clean install of ISA
2004.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Janelle
