RE: Migrate ISA Server 2004 to a different hardware

Hi,

From your first post, I assumed that you are already having CSS and ISA
Services on the same machine.

I suggested this since you want to replicate the same scenario on new
hardware. However, only now I understand that CSS and ISA services are
currently on separate h/w.

Dear Shijaz,

Thanks for your reply. But i am wondering why CSS and ISA Server services
should be on the same server. Microsoft recommends to keep CSS on a different
server than your ISA server. Also how would i have the same policies and
rules running on the existing standalone ISA server to the 2 new NLB ISA
servers

Hi,

You can install ISA 2004 EE on the new hardware and choose it to be part of
your array. During installation, choose to install both the CSS and the ISA
Services on the servers that you require to have the Config storage.

Once this is done, you can uninstall ISA on the servers that you want to
phase out.

Dear All,

I want to migrate my current ISA2004 server to another better hardware. The
current ISA Server is used along with 1 backend server and 1 front end server
in my exchange environment. I also have CSS installed on 2 different servers
for ISA.
The 2 new ISA server will be installed in an ARRAY configuration in the
perimeter network.

Can someone help me on how to do this migration to another hardware. Any
resource or tips.

Please help
