Re: Clients are authenticated but reports still show only IP addre

Hi Phil,
Thanks for posting again. I did read the information contained in the link.
I hadn't checked the "Require all clients to authenticate" option on the web
proxy tab of the internal network properties. However, the firewall rules
were only allowing requests from authenticated users anyway, so usernames
were logged for any requests that were allowed. It's just that the ISA
server reporting function would only show IP addresses for most users.
I have today enabled the "Require all clients to authenticate" and will have
to wait untill tomorrow to see if it has made a difference in the reporting
function. Having enabled this, Internet Explorer is now constantly prompting
me for a username and password, when i hit cancel, the page continues to
load.
Why am I experiencing this behaviour?
As allways any help is much appreciated.
Chris.

Are you saying that ISA Server is logging only IP address, even for
rights.that are allowed, presumably to authenticated clients?

Hi all,
I'm having a small problem understanding what's going on with my ISA
server
reports.
Our ISA 2004 server is set up to allow web access onlyto
authenticated
firewall & web proxy clients. I have checked the logs and any
requests
from
unathenticated clients are denied.
However, when I generate a report I only ever see IP addresses and
not
client usernames.
Can anyone help?
