Re: Master Browser Issues - YUK!

You can do a lot of reading about the browser stuff, for instance in the
NT4.0 resource-kit. If you don't want the machine to become a master browser,
or even participate in the election, it's ok to set the keys in the registry.
As long as you don't do it on all your machines, it won't hurt. You can even
designate some of your servers to always have some kind of browser role.

The errors you are getting sound to me that some services don't start. Check
your services to see if all the services that er stated as Automatic are
excually started. Could be that Netlogon isn't started. Did you play around
with the Microsoft Client? (delete and reïnstall for instance)

And off course you checked your firewall rules, for the test you can set it
so that all internal and localhost can do all to localhost and internal...

It is good practice to always set the duplex-settings fixed as they should.
It will make your life easier, and mostly, a lot faster. Especially with a
file-server, but it won't hurt your ISA either. Although, it will probably
not give you any faster boot-times, unless it is a Domain Controller, wich
your ISA isn't (off course)
