i have setup three Windows XP SP2 machines with Web Proxy clients using
Dynamic IP Addresses. Now, what happens is that when user shutsdown the
PC,
IE proxy settings disappears automatically, i have manually enter these
values each time when user logs in. Enable automatic provisioning is
already
checked on ISA Server 2004 + enable web proxy too.
i have not setup WPAD using DNS and DHCP so far nor GP settings to apply
IE
Proxy settings.Since, ISA Server automatically sends autodiscovery
informatin
on port 80 by default.
please let me know what might be the issue.
I have no idea why the clients won't keep the proxy settings. That is not
ISA fault. You have something wrong with XP (probably security/permissions
related). Ask the people in one of the XP Groups. What "brand" or version
or proxy server you are using is not relevant to that,...XP should just keep
what settings you put in there even if the settings are wrong.
Autodetection will never work without WPAD. The configuration is not going
to work if it is only half finished.
