Re: VPN client being disconnected

Since the 58.x.x.x address is not part of your LAN, it's probably part of
the connection from where the customer is connecting.
Is there a particular reason you're using VPN instead of OWA or RPC/HTTP?

We have a new VPN client who is based interstate. The computer is not part
of
our LAN and is a stand alone. I'm trying to connect the client via VPN to
access email using Outlook. The client computer makes the connection and
authenticates but is disconnected within a minute or so.

I'm wondering if ISA 2004 on our LAN side is disconnecting the VPN client as
the computer is not part of the domain. I have checked and the Quaratine
Control is NOT enabled but I'm wondering if it's being done some other way.

The client is getting errors for DHCP logged in the System log. They consist
of:

Source: DHCP
Event ID: 1000
Message: Your computer has lost the lease to its IP address 58.xxx.xxx.xxx
on the Network Card with network address 001321D303CF.

I'm not sure where the IP address is from but it's not part of our LAN.

Also logs:

Source: DHCP
Event ID: 1003
Message: Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network
(from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address
001321D303CF. The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to
try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Is this a DHCP issue or an issue with ISA blocking access?
Any help would be greatly appreciated to point me in the correct direction.
