ISA Firewall Client deactivated on Windows 2003 x64 platform

I recently brought up a Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 x64 machine for use as an Exchange 2007 server. Installed OS, joined domain, applied patched including IE7, then installed Firewall Client (version as of 12/14/2006). All was working fine until I installed IIS, DTC, COM+, RPC over HTTP proxy and Message Queuing in preparation for Exchange 2007 install. After doing this, my firewall client on the x64 box lost its connection to the ISA 2006 server. I checked under "Internet Options" and saw that the proxy settings were unchecked, although their was text in the appropriate places, i.e. Automatic configuring URL, proxy settings. Still no connection.

I uninstalled IE7 and the Firewall Client, then reinstalled both. Problem solved, although I do not see how the above installs could have affected the firewall client.
