I have a back to back DMZ setup using ISA 2004 firewalls. I am trying to
access external NNTP server as firewall client.
I have setup the firewall chaining between the downstream and upstream
servers with authentication.
1. I have created an access rule on the upstream server.
The protocol is NNTP
Source network is Downstream Server
Destination network is Internet
User is same as used to configure chaining
2. I have created an access rule on the downstream server.
The protocol is NNTP
Source network is Internal Network
Destination network is Internet
User is specific user with adequate rights on the downstream box
When trying to connect to a remote NNTP server from an internal workstation
using outlook express as the appropriate user defined on the downstream
server, the following happens.
1. From internal workstation to downstream server, the connection
established is firewall client.
2. From downstream server to upstream server, the connection established is
SecureNAT.
Is it possible to force firewall client connection from downstream to
upstream server?
Thanks in advance
