Wenn man ActiveScripting im _IE_ abstellt, ist der Scripting Host nicht generell abgeschaltet. Es sind aber Programme im Umlauf (AFAIR von Norton), die den Scripting Host komplett abschalten. Da von den Medien die Angst vor Viren ständig weiter geschürt wird, gibt es (vermutlich) immer mehr Anwender und Netzwerk-Admins, die den Scripting Host komplett abschalten. _Wenn_ das der Fall ist, ist eine darauf basierende Lösung 1. Support-intensiv und hat 2. eventuell einen Wettbewerbsnachteil gegenüber anderen Lösungen.

Unsere Software benutzt den Scripting Host seit Jahren, und wir haben überhaupt keine Probleme mit so etwas im Support.
Ich habe gerade unsere Support Datenbank angesehen, und für dieses Jahr nicht einen Incident gefunden von über 500. Das heißt das sind überhaupt nur Supportanfragen, die bis zu uns durchdringen und nicht im Firstlevel abgefangen werden.
Übrigens schaltet keine kommerzielle Lösung von Symantec (Corporate Edition) das Scripting aus.

Aber wenn man mit dem .NET Framework den C#Compiler schon mitbekommt und eigene Executables/Assemblies direkt on the fly compilieren und ausführen kann, ist das schon sehr viel und was braucht man mehr.
Allerdings ist dann der Zugriff auf COM Objekte nicht mehr ganz so intuitiv wie bei VBScript.


Ja, das ist auch eine Möglichkeit.

Aber damit sind natürlich noch mehr Schweinereien möglich. Wer weiß wie lange das Türchen noch offen ist... <veg>
