Dem stimme ich nur bedingt zu.
Wenn es sich um ein "0815" Web handelt
mag das stimmen, aber spätestens dann wenn es sich
um ein Web handelt wo diese Möglichkeiten nicht
mehr ausrechen, kommt man ganz schnell an die Grenzen
von .htaccess. Da helfen dann nur noch serverseitige
Lösungen per PHP / ASP usw.

Und wenn man nicht grade einen "0815" Provider (möglichst kostenlos)
hat, kann man auch bei Windows Servern die gleichen Dinge konfigurieren,
die man mit .htaccess konfigurieren kann. Und sogar meist noch komfortabler
in der Bedienung bzw. der Einrichtung.

Mir kann keiner erzählen, dass wegen .htaccess es sinnvoller ist
einen Provider zu wählen der auf Apache hostet.
