Windows Installer und JAVA-JRE-Update

Hallo,
erhalte seid einiger Zeit beim JRE-Update eine Fehlermeldung, der Windows
Installer
sei nicht bereit.
Die Meldung ist mit Windows Installerübertitelt. Der Dienst
Windows-Installer läuft aber.
Wenn ich versuche nicht den Update von JRE sondern das ganze JRE einzuspielen,
dann kommt eine Windows Installer Meldung mit "Fehler bei der Anmeldung von
Transformen....die angegebenen Transformpfade seinen nicht gültig".

JAVA Sun verweist mich an Microsoft.
Ich habe gestern XP SP3 installiert, der Fehler ist aber schon länger.
Hat da jemand eine IDEE??
