Dass Chkdsk Fehler findet, würde ich zunächst mal auf den harten Reset
zurückführen.
Ich hatte ebenfalls Probleme mit W2k und Firefox 3 - bei mir waren es
sporadische 0xD1-Bluescreens. Bin jetzt auf Opera umgestiegen, keine
Probleme mehr.
IE6SP1 geht auch problemlos.

Ich empfehle dem OP zunächst mal einen Browserwechsel.
