Active Directory Client Extensions for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/evaluation/news/bulletins/adextension.asp

#############################
Dazugekommen ist :

- Site awareness. A system with the Active Directory client installed will
attempt to log on to a domain controller in its own site.

- Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI). ADSI allows the use of
scripting to manage Active Directory.

- Distributed File System (DFS). Systems can access DFS shared resources on
servers running Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003.

- NT LAN Manager (NTLM) version 2 authentication. Clients running the
software can take advantage of improved authentication features in NTLM
version 2.

- Active Directory Windows Address Book (WAB). Clients can change the
properties of user object properties pages, such as phone numbers or
addresses.

- Active Directory search capability integrated into the Start-Find or
Start- Search commands.

#############################
*Nicht* dazugekommen ist:

- Kerberos V5 authentication
- Group Policy or Change And Configuration Management support
- Service principal name (SPN), or mutual authentication.
