Warum, Aua ? Bis jetzt hane ich noch keine einfacher zu bedienende Firewall
gesehen und eingentlich bin ich ganz zufrieden mit den Resultaten.

Ja, über den T-Sinus 154 DSL Router. Nicht per W-Lan sondern, per Kabel.

Dann frag mal die Jungs und Mädels in der Windows XP-Networking-
Newsgroup nach dem Stichwort "MTU".

Hatte mich auch soweit durchgegoogelt und unter

eine ganz brauchbare Anleitung zur manuellen Einstellung der MTU gefunden.

Im _Router_?

Wie kommt es denn, dass alles jahrelang, problemlos funktioniert (auch mit
höheren MTU etc. Werten und plötzlich nichtmehr ?

Frag das mal Deinen Provider.

Das Problem trat auf, als
ich den lt. MS Windows- und Officeupdate (etwa um den 22.03.2006) gemacht
habe. Hat sich dadurch was verändert ?

Nein - zumal es laut Deinen Aussagen ja auch mit dem Zurückspielen eines
ollen Images genauso wenig funktioniert.
