Deswegen ja die Frage: Du solltest keine IRIX-Maschine ins Internet
stellen. Schau Dir mal die Vulnerability-Liste von IRIX an - das ist
schlimmer als Windows. Besser Du nimmst den MIPS-Port von Debian.

Wenn Du Dich nur auf die Virenscanner verläßt, bist Du verlassen.
Solbald die Clients vernünftig gepached sind, hast Du wesentlich
bessere Karten auch gegen unbekannte Viren.
