es geht also nicht um das Protokoll ftp sondern um die Features

Website kopieren
und
Website veröffentlichen, was bei Express nicht verfügbar ist.

Website veröffentlichen halte ich auch für unbrauchbar,
wenn es mehr Dateien werden oder Bilder enthalten sind.

Website kopieren erfordert, dass ich weiß was ich will.
Und ist nur geeignet wenn ich die Code Dateien hoch lade und keine dll.
Dafür ist es aber gut und bei Express geht es nicht anders.

Für große Websites mit Navigation und 1000 Dateien,
kenne ich keine Alternative zu FrontPage (Client und Server).
Hier wird genau gesucht was sich geändert hat und die Informationen stehen in den _vti_ Ordnern.
Weil genügend Leute das nicht verstanden haben und meckern, schafft Microsoft das nun ab.
Das heisst aber nicht, dass es schlechter war als veröffentlichen mit Visual Studio.

Also du veröffentlichst / kompilierst ins Dateisystem
nimmst dann den ftp Client und der zeigt an was sich geändert hat?

Wie wird erkannt welche Dateien sich geändert haben? (Das Datum ändert sich beim kopieren)
Wie werden mir diese zum kopieren angeboten?

Es wird über ftp gemeckert, aber es geht nicht um FTP. Das versteht niemand.
