The Power Supply is a 12000 Watt TruePower Quattro by Antec. One of the best.
I have not 'Blown' monitors, I run two monitors and they both go to 'Black Screen' even though the computer seems to be working. Although the sounds also dies about a second or two later. All the latest drivers are installed, in fact I tried installing earlier video drivers to see if that would make any difference.
The problem appears to be a heat problem. I do run the computer with the sides open and I have an external fan pointing directly at the Video Card. When I first started using external fans there appear to be an improvement in the length of time I could run without a crash. The card is definately hot
to the touch. If I knew more about Water Cooled systems I would install one of those to see if it would make a difference. Can you direct me to a web site for water cooling systems?
And thank you for you response. 8-)

Hello,.
What size of power supply are you running? Sounds like you're PC is lacking sufficient power to run properly and possibly damaging some components. Since you are running high end games, I'd suggest getting a high rated power supply since your high end hardware needs more power.
Since you've blown two monitors, I'd check to make sure if the video card has any power connectors on it and ensure that it has a power connector plugged into it. I have seen some video cards that require a separate power supply connection and they also supply power to the monitor.
Also, as Fastrac.Design mentioned, make sure all your drivers are up to date for ALL of your hardware (MB, NIC, sound, video, etc).
I hope this info helps you get back to gaming!

"Tom Rapheld" <TRapheld@xxxxxxx> wrote in message news:OKjlryMBKHA.780@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI have taken my puter to top experts in my area with no fix.
I crash to monitors that have gone completely blank with the sounds going off shortly thereafter. I have to turn the puter completely off and restart it. This crash only happens in high graphic games, including MMORPG games. For Example: LOTRO, Fallen Earth, Dungeon and Dragons, Neverwinter Nights 2, Assassin's Creed, etc. etc. etc.
Since this started I have replaced the Mother Board with an ASUS P5Q-E, the Video Card with an nVidia/EVGA GeForce GTX 285, 1T Hard Drive and replaced Windows Vista from scratch on the new hard drive. I have run the system with the sound card (Creative X-Fi Audio Processor, Fatality) totally removed and the HP-DVD read/write drive taken out. I have replace a lot of the wiring in the system. I have used different internet service providers. I use 4 Gigs of onboard memory and have taken 2 Gigs out and then exchange the 2 Gigs of memory still onboard with what I have taken out. About the only think that I have not replaced is the 2.66GHz, 2666Mhz, Core2 Quad CPU.
Machine crashed before all the new stuff was installed and after. Always crashing to what seems like there is no output to the monitor nor the speakers. It crashes more readily on MMORPG games, but it also crashes on off-line games. Never had a crash from a Solitaire or Majong type game and never crashed while I am doing any normal work or online searches.
Again, about the only thing that I have not replaced is the CPU. Does anyone out there know enough to help me or know where I can post this message to get positive feedback on how to solve my problem??
