Hi Pete,
In this situation, the answer appears to be yes since the video card
is actually an onboard chipset without it's own memory modules.
Although onboard graphics are great for desktop applications, once
you begin using your PC for gaming, you should install an actual
video card (DirectX 9 or greater). They don't cost that much more
than a high quality joystick really, if you need to justify the cost. ;-)

| I have looked as instructed, the Video card states 64MB.
| This ties up with the message that says only 192MB memory detected.
| Does this mean that although Ithe PC has 256MB RAM, it can not run a game
| which requires 256MB RAM?
| Thanks,
|
|| Hi Pete,
||
|| Since you have 256 MB of System, just just within the requirement,
|| however, if you have an onboard video card sharing that RAM, then
|| you'll be below the requirements as listed on the Zoo Tycoon 2 page:
||
|| System Requirements
||
|| Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP
|| Multimedia PC with a 733 MHz processor
|| 256 MB RAM
|| 900 MB of available hard disk space
|| Quad-speed or higher CD-ROM drive
|| 16 MB 3D DirectX9.0 or later
||
|| --- To find out how many MB RAM your video card has click:
|| START > RUN > type: dxdiag
|| Look under the Display tab for your video card specifications.

||| OK, I'm thick - how do I find out the System RAM (computer has 256 RAM if
||| that helps) and the Video RAM!
||| Thanks
|||
|||| Hi Pete,
||||
|||| There are three memory requirements which come into play:
||||
|||| 1. Page File / Virtual Memory - which you've already investigated;
|||| 2. System RAM
|||| 3. Video RAM
||||
|||| How does your availabel RAM stack up against requirements 2 and 3.
