flight sim 04 instrument panel problem

Can any one direct me in resolving the following problem:
when I start start 04, and says fly now, and the
iintrument panel comes up on the lower half, and the
runway on the upper half. Theinstrument panel on the
lower half is all black ????? How or what can I do to
correct this.
