Fatal Error with Dungeon Siege

I loaded Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna on my XP system.
I've looked through Microsoft's support page and I
couldn't find a listing of my problem. I started the game
and the splash screen shows and then my screen goes black
and this error messege pops up.
Fatal Error App Shutdown
Unable to enumerate any Direct Draw Devices installed.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 with 128 DDR. I made sure
I had NVIDIA'S most recent driver, I've uninstalled it
and reinstalled it and nothing helps. This isn't the only
game I've had this problem with. Alien vs. Preditor and
Jedi Outcast gave me the same problem. I have played
Morrowind and Knights of the Old Republic without any
problem. If anyone has any I ideas PLEASE PLEASE post
them. THANKS
