Re: Hyperlink Grayed Out - Frontpage 2003

I guess I did not explain this too well.

I am trying to create a link to another page on my website. (Example:
xyz.pdf)

From what I have read, I can type the text that I want to make a link. (Ex:
Go to xyz.pdf)

Then I would highlight that text, and click on the hyperlink icon. and
select the target page for the link.

However, as soon as I highlight the text, my hyperlink icon grays out.

The alternative that I have read is to click the hyperlink icon and then
enter the text to display and the target page. When I do this, the entire
page highlights and when type in the text to display all of the other text
on the page is deleted.

According to FP Help, this is suppose to be very easy, and they explain both
ways (highlight text or create the text from the icon), so I don't
understand why it doesn't work. The only way that I can create links is to
write the HTML code.

Thanks for your help,
Norm

Why is this not working correctly?

Thanks, Norm

Can you please explain more?

I don't understand how you are creating your hyperlink. Are you using the
icon on the toolbar? If so, you get a dialog box to type in the link at
the bottom of it.

Why would you be highlighting the text? I don't understand this.

Selects the whole page?

You can click "target frame" "new window" in that same dialog box to have
the linked page appear without leaving your site.
