Front Page Errors-version 2002 and 2003

I am trying to save web pages in microsoft front page. I have both
2002 and 2003 versions and in the 7 years I have been working with
front page have never encountered the following problem. When I try
to open or save a page, I get the following error:
An error occurred accessing your windows sharepoint services files
An error occurred accessing your Frontpage web files. Authors-if
authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this
server's site. Webmasters-please see the server's system log for more
details.
I do not have windows sharepoint services on either my new or old
desktop. Since the files are also on an external hard drive, I have
tried opening and saving on the same computer and had the same message
happen. I do not handle my own hosting.....I pay a company to
host...but the problem is happening in Front page, both versions.
Any ideas about what could cause this and how to fix the problem?
