Thanks Jerry,
Am I correct that your reference would get me to the top of file
"../otherdir/page.html." I want be at the exact point in the other
folder/page such as ../otherdir/page.html#spot which was identified by <a>
name="spot" > Select entrance. </a>.

Is this possible?
