Wow- finally got somewhere!
Yes your correct, it is actually the ' in charlotte's causing the error..
as ive made a new user account, as i cant amend the charlotte's folder name
as its a windows folder.. and in my new user account i opened frontpage and
brilliantly all works perfectly!
Now - just all my documents and computer settings and internet settings, etc
are on the other user account...
will get comp guy to come and sort it.

assistance. Greatly appreciated!

You MUST remove the apostrophe in "Charlotte's". This is preventing the
buttons (and probably other JavaScripts) from working on your PC.
The only ways I know to remove the apostrophe are:
change your Windows logon userId.
Use a different Windows account (without punctuation in the userId)

The apostrophe in Charlotte's will cause problems in webs contained in
the
Charlotte's profile - particularly when testing JavaScript. To avoid
these problems us a folder outside the Documents and Settings folder -
for
example create a new website at C:/mywebs/mywebsite

Whether this affects the creation of the Interactive Buttons I do not
know, but it will affect testing them.

You can create a web folder anywhere you want.

When you say you 'deleted' Frontpage, I hope you meant UNinstalled
it?

Try this again;
Open FP
File | New then over on the right side of your screen select under
New
Web
Site one of the Templates for a web site ... maybe Personal Web
Site,
whatever...doesn't matter.

Now pay attention here on the right side of THAT window it says
Options;
Specify the location of the new Web site;
In that drop down window enter THIS: C:\My Documents\My
Experimental
Webs\charlotte
(this will create the web folder My Experimental Web with a web
named
charlotte inside of it.

Now with this web site created and opened try creating your IB
buttons.

Save and close the web.

Let's try opening it properly;
Open FP
File | Open Site
browse to My Documents | My Experimental Webs....charlotte

( HA...Charlotte's Web !! - funny )

Now when you are Done and want to delete chalotte web
Open FP
File | Open Site
open this web as above
with the site opened, select the root (the top most file in the File
List
on the left side of the screen) and select delete...you'll be
prompted
to
delete all or something else I forget...but Delete it all.

This procedure is slightly different if you are working with a
server
on
your local machine and not a disc-based web.

for server you'd subsititute http://localhost/charlotte instead of
the
C:\ path given above.

ALWAYS OPEN A WEB SITE BEFORE MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR WEB PAGES.

Or you are opening the page in the web and saving it outside of

The IB will never show until you open a FP Web site First and Then
open
a new page in that web site
