html an body tags are supposed to be in every web page. Your example has extra tags. Most likely what happened when the HD crashed it corrupted some files. (a file is saved in chunks at various places on the HD.) The imported web imported corrupted files. FP default is to try to fix pages with missing tags.

Hi, I am interested to see if anyone has a suggestion as to what can be occurring to cause FrontPage code to corrupt in this manner.

<body topmargin="1" leftmargin="1">
<body>
<body>
<body></body>
</HTML>
I have not included the <html> and <head> tags but they are there.
A new network was installed recently in the office where this website is being administered (XP) then the local hard drive crashed and a new one installed.
The network administrator replaced the programs and load FrontPage to "help"
When I was called in a few days later. I opened the web he "imported" and it was cl
completely blank. Then the error showed up as you see it. All text and graphics are visible but not contained in the body area. The borders were repeating themselves so I have deleted them for now. I then imported the files from the web and imported them to my network system (2000) and found that they were "read"o
only and the the service.lck file was missing. Took an old service.lck file from the previous web I had developed foir the client and placed it into the web. Unchecked the attibutes in properties and this helped me but I am still getting the above code recreating itself. The network guy says this is a FrontPage problem. Thank you for your time in helping with this very frustrating problem.
