web server

Hi, new to this group, also new to web site design. I hope anyone give
me some help about test website on computer based on windows xp pro.
when I browsed my pages, it always say 'web server' or 'frontpage
server extension' have problem. I installed frontpage 2003, installed
frontpage server extension 2002 from the os cd. How can I have a web
server for xp, or check the frontpage server works well?
