I downloaded the extensions; installed them, but Microsoft SharePoint Admin Home shows on :8350 (is this o.k.?)
When I click on Default Web Site (under IIS) and click on browse (this is on port 80) I get the following message:
HTTP Error 500.24 - Internal Server Error
An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode. Detailed Error InformationModule ConfigurationValidationModule
Notification BeginRequest
Handler StaticFile
Error Code 0x80070032
Requested URL http://XXX:80/
Physical Path C:\inetpub\wwwroot
Logon Method Not yet determined
Logon User Not yet determined
I am able to get Site administration for SharePoint
http://XXX:8350/fpadmdll.dll
and from there
to my "default" web on port 80
http://XXX/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmdll.dll?page=webadmin.htm
where I can create a subweb etc., but that's about all.
When I try to create a web with FP2003 and specify http://XXX/mynewweb I get an error saying XXX does not have SharePoint installed.
P.S.
I'll be happy if it all goes to port 80, just have to remember to stop apache when trying to use Fp..
any advice will be greatly appreciated.

First, you install the FrontPage extensions on Port 8080.
Then you specify the port in the website location:
For example:
http://localhost:8080/
FP2002 extensions for IIS7 (as used in Windows Server 2008 and Vista versions where IIS7 is available) are available from:
http://www.iis.net/downloads/default.aspx?tabid=34&g=6&i=1630
Versions of FP2002 extensions for other operating systems are not available.
