Re: Site moved to UNIX server w/o extensions

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Provided you edit locally (on your PC) navigation bars, links, shared borders and themes will generally not present any problems. Renaming and moving pages will update the links as normal when editing in FrontPage. There are exceptions: Custom link bars, and Link bars using a different theme to that on the page may fail when published - these require extensions on the server.

Preview in browser is close to previewing on the server (without extensions), since the file system does not use extensions, although active content such as forms will not work.

I had found that page when searching and it was somewhat helpful.

I am not an expert html person, having simply used FrontPage because of ease.
I know most of my forms will have to be redone with a script.

My concerns are other items that may not work: themes, shared borders,
navigation bars, renaming/relinking pages....those things that FP does
"automatically"? That was why I included the domains fyi.

I'm hoping I don't have to write all new html just to effect this change to
UNIX.

Is there a way to "test" the sites/pages without actually putting them over
onto the UNIX platform? Network Solutions [hoster] has been no help.
