The FP search component works in the web or subweb that it is a part of, and
won't work across webs unless using Index Server on a Windows server,
whereby it can be configured to work across web/subweb, and can be
specifically set up for specific folders if desired.

| Hello everyone,
|
| A happy new year to you all...
|
| I woould like to know how the search component works in FP2000.
|
| I have found conflicting information via Google.
|
| In some cases it says "performs a full text search over all the pages in a
| web"
|
| while in others it states "when FP2000SE is installed with IIS 3.0, the
| search form uses the document index and search component of the index
| server,... then mentions a dta query (.idq) file in the _vti_script
directory.
|
| In my website, both original and published, I do have a _vti_script
| directory, but it is empty, yet my searches seem to work fine, as I have
the
| MMC snap-in enabled.
|
| Can anyone help me on this?
