Re: FP 2003 message: An error occurred accessing Windows Sharepoi

Hi Kathleen,

I don't think I have the Internet Worm Protection in the Symantec Antivirus
Corp Edition 9.0. I tried unloading the whole service and went into services
and turned off everything and I'm still getting the same error... :(

Hi George:
Disabling Norton AntiVirus Auto Protect will not work. Can you turn off the
Internet Worm Protection function in NAV? That's been working for me.

I'm having the same problem - and I just tried disabling the AV (I have
Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition) and that didn't work either. Here's
what
I was trying to post:

OK - FrontPage 2003 was running fine for the 12 months, but all the
sudden,
it stopped working. I have no clue why. Why I try to create a new web
site
now doing http://127.0.0.1/TestWeb, I get this error:

"An error occurred accessing your Windows SharePoint Services site files.
Authors - if authoring against a Web server, please contact the Webmaster
for
this server's Web site. WebMasters - please see the server's application
event log for more details."

My set up is Windows XP Pro SP2 on a laptop, running IIS 5.1 and FP 2003
locally. I'm not doing any publishing or anything like that at this
point.

IIS is working at least - when I browse to http://127.0.0.1/test.asp, it
gives me the current date and time via the ASP code. I can't connect to
it
via Visual InterDev 6 either.

Checking the Server Extensions via the Server Extenions Administrator
didn't
find any problems either. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling both
FP2003,
IIS, and the extensions but none of them worked. My last step is to just
reformat and reinstall the whole thing but I can't afford the time to do
that
right now until probably December.

Anybody have any clue what I should look at next? I haven't installed any
software lately either.

Thanks.

George
