Re: Unable to enable FrontPage Extensions

As long as you using File Menu | Publish Site and entering the designation in the format of
http://www.yourdomainname.com, then no.

Is there any chance, I am uploading something that is messing up the system
so FP extesions won't work? I just seems odd that when using my home
computer, things worked fine but when I returned to using my office computer
things went haywire. Any idea what may be causing the problem? Would
reinstalling FP clear up the problem? I checked my computer for spyware and
viruses. Not a problem there. Just really frustrated!

Thanks.

One other thing. Since I can't enable FP extensions, will I be able to use
fpcleaner. I still won't be able to upload any files since I won't have
access to the extensions. I needed to get some changes made which is why I
FTP'ed the changed files. Since my ISP was unable to come up with a solution,
this was the best thing I could think of to get the updates I needed to do
done. I went to my control panel and uninstall extensions last night and
tried to reinstall them this morning but got the same message.

Thanks again.

I recently added 2 discussion groups. One open and one password protected.
Around that same time, my ISP upgraded their control panel. It is
HSPcomplete. I am using FP2003 and they are using Secure FrontPage Apache
Server Extensions 5.0.2.2634. Just some added info.

What I mean by don't work is when I install them and try to create an
administrator account, I get this error message: Failed to enable the
FrontPage extensions for the website inareaumc.org. I don't know what else I
can tell you. My ISP contacted their vendor and after a week and a half
hadn't heard back from them, so they created a new account. It seemed to be
working fine until I got to work on Monday and made changes from my work
computer.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Please expand on "don't work". What errors are you receiving?
Using FTP will corrupt the extensions, which may have to be re-installed
(again).
Download FPCleaner from www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and run the
routines to clear the web cache files and temporary files. This may help.

I am unable to enable FrontPage extensions at my ISP. It is an Apache
Server.
This happened two weeks ago and they were unable to fix the problem
(after a
week and a half) so they created a new account for me. I was able to use
the
account fine over the weekend from my home computer. Today, when I got
back
to work, I had to make some changes to the site. Now the extensions won't
work again. Is it possible something in FrontPage on my work computer is
messed up and causing the problem. Any ideas how I can fix the problem? I
have uninstalled the FrontPage extensions and reinstalled them but still
no
luck. In order to make changes I have been using another program to FTP
the
changed pages. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions in advance.
