I just upgraded from a 3000 to a 7000 and have the same problem. In searching
the net I find several people who say they maintain multiple FrontPage sites
using the 7000. As a result I believe that there is some setup that does
work. One user who posted success does not list email address and has not
posted recently.

Without setting the proxy on, any attempt to publish gets an error without
getting as far as asking for your login credentials. The only applicable part
of the error message refers to incorrect proxy server settings. After
settings the proxy settings to those recommended by DirecWay support I get
this FrontPage error:
The server couldn't log you on because you are connecting through a proxy
server but the server's authentication scheme(s) do not work across a proxy.
Try adding the server to the Exceptions box in the proxy settings dialog or
request the server administrator to enable another authentication scheme.
I add my site but no joy. I also occasionally get an error that asks if I am
trying to connect to a SharePoint server.
How can we chase this down? I've sent an email to direcway to see if they
are blocking port 80 uplinks but have not gotten a reply as yet.

Try this, It may work (or may not) in your internet browser, (tools, internet.
options, connections, lan settings) uncheck (or check) the use proxy server
field.

I contacted Direcway and they said to uninstall FrontPage and then re-install
it to reset the settings and it should work. I did and it still doesn't work.
I also went into Yahoo and reset the authors and settings per their
instructions and that didn't work either. A geek from the GeekSquad told me
there is something inside the DW7000 that won't let me use FrontPage. He
explained it in techno-lingo that I didn't understand, but after your
response whatever he said is probably true. Rolling back to the 4000 isn't an
option as we have made a major investment in upgrading to a new computer and
the 7000. We had nothing but trouble with the 4000 over the past year,
frequently not even being able to access Direcway. We live in a remote area
and dial-up is our only other alternative. The 7000 is 10 times faster than
the 4000 was. I hate to have to subscribe to a dial up for the old computer
and just use it for updating the website but I don't really want to scrap the
site as I have spent a lot of time building it. If I have to build a new one
do you know of a program that will work with the DW7000?

This is known issue with Direcway, you need to contact them or rollback to 4000.

I just bought a new computer with XP media center on it and upgraded from a
Direcway 4000 to a Direcway 7000. I loaded FrontPage 2002, the is the program
I used to create my web page, onto my new computer. My web page is hosted on
Yahoo and I can't open my website with FrontPage on my computer. Has anyone
got any suggestions?
