On their server box, open manage computer, then select services and then
Indexing Services, and then the search form. If they run the form there, do
they get any results?
When they look in the IIS Manager, double-clicking the third folder under the
server icon (the one named Web Service Extensions), is the Indexing Service
listed and allowed? It might not be there, because the indexing service is
not a component of IIS that is installed by default. If it is not there, they
have to uninstall IIS, then reinstall it, while designating that the Indexing
Service is to be installed.
Have they configured their site to use FPSE? This is a separate step after
installing FPSE.
Assuming that they are using a Site that they created (not the default web
site), have they created a catalog and set it to tracking their site? If this
was done after the form was published, they have to open the .idq file,
located in the _vti_scripts directory in the root of their site, and make sure
that the cicatalog parameter is pointing to their catalog.
