Actually,you are right.FPSE2002 is using NT_AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account to access the UNC share.Since the system is a local computer account,it is unable to access the files on the UNC share and hence the error.Is there any way of getting around it?

You have no doubt looked at the logon failures logged on
the hosts of the UNCs. Knowing FP ext I would not be too
surprised to see it attempting access with the Local System
account (yes, I know, you said IIS 6 with the app pool and
others using domain accounts).
