Open a web.
Create a new folder.
Right-click the new folder and select to convert to a subweb.
Double-click the subweb to open it in its own window.
Click on Tools > Server > Permissions.
If your web site already has a password/username, then a
dialog box will pop up asking for it.
After you finish that, you then indicate that you want
unique permissions and password for this subweb. That is,
you will select a username/password that is different from
your present web site.
After you indicate all that, then all the pages on that
subweb can only be entered after entering the specific
username/password combo for that subweb.
