Enabling/Disabling options under Page Options will not remove features already added when the
option(s) where enabled. only stop you from adding disabled options to new pages.

You need to open a page with Shared Borders, and set be apply to All page, uncheck all Shared Border
location and set as web / site default. Now if you have applied Shared Borders throughout your site
and have no enabled or disabled them on individual pages, they should all go away as long as you are
not using a Theme.
