Well, checked... didn't work. Looks like it should have but it didn't.
Then I realized that the fix was for Word 2003 and I have 2000, so
I found this:

Unfortunately there are no links to the fix.

But, it described the problem from another viewpoint and I realized
that by removing the web site from "My Network Places" (put there by
FP use) that I could eliminate the problem. So, FP does _cause_ the
problem, in a backhand way since the sites get there after publishing
in FP.
