Thank you Wes, Ron, Stefan et al

The answer is: last time I must have used my purchased full version of
FP2002 to upgrade the 45-day trial version of FP2000. I uninstalled what I
installed 2 days ago, and miraculously, the trial disk has allowed me to
generate another 45-day trial. I then installed FP2002 again, whereupon the
Wizard presented me with all sorts of options, like do a full install, delete
whatever's there already, or upgrade.

Thanyou for your answers which led in the direction of this conclusion.
