Thank you for your reply Stefan. Yes, I understand that for medium to large scale serving, that XP Pro & IIS is not an ideal solution. For my purposes I think it would be fine. It is for home automation and sharing photos w/family & friends. I wouldn't expect any more than two or three people accessing it at any one time. Though admittingly, I'm surprised you received the error that you did as at 1:36 in the morning on Saturday, 7/10, only I should have been accessing it from one or two other computers during some development & web site uploading I was doing that that early hour. The programs I am using for home automation, weather station monitoring, cam streaming, and web serving are designed to work in a Win XP environment. Do you have a recommendation for an alternate OS that would allow my programs to work well and yet be in a platform that is better suited to serving web pages?
