yes, it exists and up to this last week, I could open live (www.daystar.com)
and publish to my hard drive (localhost or cd) - now I can only open and
publish from localhost to www.daystar.com - I can NOT publish from my
localhost/daystar to c:\My Webs - when I type in any other location for
remote host in the remote host properties box, other than the www - UNLESS I
click on the box for File System instead of FP or Sharepoint Services - but
then I will get an error box that says that there are dynamic components
that won't work unless they are published to a web server running the FPSE
or SPS - however if I click ignore and continue it publishes to My
Webs/daystar and then when finished I view it and it appears fine. So one
thing I just learned is that I have to choose FILE SYSTEM to publish remote
to my hard drive - --
OK>.......I just tried to do what I want to do within fp2003 .... open the
www.site live and publish to my hard drive... it went thru without a
hitch!!!! I have NO CLUE why it works today and not the last 2 days....no
clue whatsoever... just thought I would try it once more before sending this
message - and decided NOT to erase the above paragraph just so you would see
exactly what I was going thru .... the ONLY thing that I have chnaged this
morning ... was to take OFF Norton antispam off my computer.... and all the
JIMCO add ins yesterday (since they were causing errors when saving pages)
.... don't know if either of these two would effect what I'm trying to do -
but .... whatever.... it seems to be working now - maybe some of this info
will ring a bell with you tech guys and help someone faster next time ...
maybe it was the antispam thing ... who knows??? now ...if I could JUST GET
MY removable drives working???!!! all of the sudden I can not read anything
from any of them!!! a, d, e, and sandisk usb drives....sigh....hate when I
have company over for the weekend and they USE MY COMPUTER .....
thanks for listening and helping me try different things....
