I just tried it...no go.
An alternative could be if the person who gave you the file outputted it to a .pdf (they would have to have Adobe Acrobat Writer or Distiller...or another .pdf creation tool)...then you could open the .pdf...but don't know if this will help either because you couldn't edit it. Depends on what you want to do with the image.
