I created another Administrator account and started FP.
After clicking on open site, and typing in the site name
(full URL), a box appeared saying "Connecting to Web
server..." It freezes there, though the animated icon
continues to function. The site does not open.
As to the registry stuff you mentioned, I was not sure
when to attempt the changes, before my steps above, in
addition to them, or in place of them, or after them.
