Need a non-"window.open" pop up window

I am in need of code that will specify a link to open a new window of a size and position that I define without using the javascript "window.open" command. It messes with other javascript that I have on my page. I think a totally HTML option would be ideal. It would also be ideal to include it all in the <a href> tag. Any ideas? You'd be a lifesaver. Thanks.
