Ron -
Thanks for your quote.
You may have hit on something ...
I have recently connected to Broadband using a Router (which incorporates a
Broadband modem) to network my three computers. I understand from the
manufacturers (Netgear) that my computers are behind a "hardware firewall"
(ie the Router) and so I have disabled my Norton Internet Security, just
leaving Norton AntiVirus on to catch the virus 'nasties'.
Would it be the "hardware firewall" that is causing the Error 425?
Obviously I can't disable this so what can I do?
Also 1) why does FP start uploading some (a dozen or so) files happily and
not refuse to upload at all from the start?
2) I have successfully updated existing sites from behind my "hardware
firewall" router
3) How is it that uploading via an FTP program is executed perfectly?
4) If FP2000 doesn't support "Passive Transfer Mode", as stated in your
quote, will the latest version (2003 or 4?) do so if I upgrade?
Thanks again to everyone helping - all ideas gratefully received!
