Hello Thomas,

Thanks for the reply but I'm not clear on how the Excel newsgroup can help.
My website is written in FrontPage and the owc spread*** control isn't
truly Excel it just has some of the functionality of a spread***. Please
enlighten me.

Hello Gang,

I am writing a website in FrontPage 2002 for my dad's business because I
have the most experience, which isn't saying much, and I'm free labor. It's
an easy site with no shopping cart and no calculations, just graphics and
text. However, his business has cabin rentals and the office manager wants
to show availability (read only) on the site (in a restricted area for the
members). The OM uses Excel. I'm thinking the owc spread*** control is
the way to go with it mirroring the Excel spread*** on the server that the
OM will update.

Here is my objective, the OM updates the reservations spread***. Whenever
the site is opened it automatically updates the spread*** control with the
new data.

Here are my problems. I've tried the import feature on the spread***
control using an HTML format and I get an empty spread***. Also, when I
customize the spread*** control it reverts back to whatever it was. I
rename the spreadsheet to 2007 and it becomes sheet1. I resize the
spread*** to $A$1:$G$53 an it resizes back out to timbucktoo. Am I missing
something here? Also, I have to log in six times to see the spread***
after I've already logged in to the members area.

Now, back to my programming abilities. I can write in HTML, and read and
understand Javascript but not proficient enough to avoid banging my head on
my desk :) out of frustration.

So here are my questions:

1. Can the spread*** control mirror the html or xls file on the server?
2. How do I keep my *** name corrected?
3. How do I keep my *** size smaller?
4. Can I have multiple sheets like in a workbook?
5. Why do I have to keep logging in several times to see my page?

I know one of you smart people likes the reference
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=268948. I've tried this but I
didn't like the way it looked and it ignored my shaded cells. Once this is
in place I want to be hands off with the data.

Thanks in advance.
