There is actually a photo gallery built into FP 03. It creates thumbnails
automatically and allows you to post captions under your thumbnails, etc....
There are only two problems with the built-in gallery:
1. It creates a folder with a long numbered folder name outside of where
your images are currently stored (meaning if you create more than one
gallery, you will have more than one folder with images in your root
directory, not in your image directory or in the directory where your page
is stored). This may not be a problem for you, but I have specific folders
for my images as well as specific folders for certain pages... If there's a
way to alter the folder creation, I am not aware of it.
2. I prefer all of my thumbnailed images to open the fullsize image in a new
window. The built-in gallery doesn't do that. I found a way to fix that, but
if you're a newbie without much FP experience, I'd rather not confuse you
with my methods. Again, the images opening in the same window may not be a
problem for you. There is also one option that allows your images to open on
the same page while keeping the thumbnails available at the same time
(unlike some options where you click on the thumbnail and it opens the image
on a blank page).
In any case, you can test it out this way. Open a blank page. Click on
Insert, then Web Component, then Photo Gallery. A dialog box will open with
options. You can choose local images from within your site or you can upload
them during the creation of the gallery page. You can add the gallery to a
blank page or add it into an existing page with existing content.

I am a new user to FrontPage 2003 and it sounds like I would be better off
with a different photo gallery since I don't know the basics never the
the tricks needed to make it worth with FP.PHP

I use Gallery 2, available at Sourceforge. It's PHP based, but I've
incorporated it into several sites that are FP based. FP03 is the most
thingsfriendly version of FP, but a few things don't work automatically. I've
learned how to make them bend to my will anyway..... (I love doing
ofI've been told "can't" be done).

I am about to switch to FrontPage 2003 for my web publishing. I have afew
questions that would be helpful to me as a neophyte with FrontPage.
I do not see any good photo album add-in. My site is essentially
pictures
of my family which I publish every month to a site. Does anyone know
ita
sharp looking photo album add-in?
Also, my site is a secure site (user name and password required). Is
easy to create a secure site with FrontPage?
