RE: Comcast anyone?

Thanks...though, I did finally get the darn thing up and running...granted I
have some things to fix....and can't understand why some of the photo slide
show things are messed up...but, at least the SITE is up! I have to update it
soon, and hope I don't lose everything!

trish, it seems to me, you may have came across the same problems, as i had
(recently, started learning from scratch.) first, i need to know what you're
seeing (like, error messages, something about 'server extensions...blah,
blah, blah!?!, etc.) i was thumping my head in agony, but ended-up chatting
with some guy on the comcast online support. he was restricted from helping
me with anything, since frontpage is a 3rd party program. however, he was
gracious enough to inform me that the instructions for using the frontpage
'03 extensions are right there in front of my face and very simple; and
self-explanatory. so, i went back and tried it and it worked!! but, since you
probably tried to post your website, already, you're going to have to go into
your "web building blocks', then click on manage existing files or manage
directories<--(they're both on the same page) and delete/clear everything, in
the delete directory, delete files,,,,,just delete/clear everything!! after
that, go to the extensions, again, and make sure that only the frontpage '03
extensions is activated (better yet, make sure everything is clicked on no,
re-authorize/confirm it, then, go back and only click yes to frontpage
extensions, and authorize again.) click no to all the other crap. i don't
know why, but it's what i did. then, i went back and found out, the i
messed-up the name of my HOMEPAGE, in the folders list. i made some changes
to a couple of the pages i created, not knowing that i actually created a
mess. so, what i ended-up doing, was i just burned to a CD, the "MY WEBS"
document (in the MY DOCUMENTS folder), where the website is stored, just to
have a copy of all the wonderful jibberish i had created (so, i could copy
and paste the text and stuff, to the new page), then i scrapped the whole
deal that i created and started all over. this time, i made sure i went out
and bought a book, at borders. the book i have now is called, "Microsoft
Office--Frontpage 2003--fast & easy"--by brian proffitt--published by premier
press. it set me back $20, but it's well worth it. it shows everything you
need to know, with arrows pointing and everything. although, i saw other
books that were just as good or about the same, for about the same price, i
liked the one i bought, better. the frontpage for dummies sucked for $5 more.
in fact, there were two different frontpage for dummies books, both were
complicated, one was alot bigger, alot more complicated techie stuff and for
$30. if you were thinking, like i was, "i wasted $100 on this program and it
doesn't work on comcast?" the gooid news is, frontpage '03 does work, it just
takes trial and error. in fact, i even had it working, then tried to update
it, like 4 or 5 times and it stopped working, so i had to do it over, again
and again. deleting those files and directories was a major pain, but you
gotta do what you gotta do to learn. i don't mind telling you that every time
i re-created my website, it actually got better, looked better and i saved it
on a CD, every time i thought i had it where i wanted it. when i screwed-up,
all i had to do was delete the website from the MY WEBS document, and copied
the one from the CD, back to the MY WEBS document. i just kept bumping into
new and better things. right now, i don't have it up and running on comcast
or any other hosting site, 'cause i'm learning how to create forms, so i can
create a disclaimer. just something else well worth learning. so, to answer
your question, after all this crapola i've just provided you, this is the
link that i got to that finally helped set me free!!

let me know what happens, okay!?! good luck!! seahero00@xxxxxxxxxxx
