Dear Debra,.
Yes, Stefan has it right. Here's the step by step:
1) Open any working page in your web in FrontPage - delete all the
content of the page (this will preserve your theme and formatting) and
File -> Save As... NOT SAVE!! it as something else - maybe call it
agencies.htm (and fill in the 'Title' box as "Agencies"; thats what
you'll see at the top of the browser when you browse to it) - and save
it to the web, empty.
2) Open the Word document, and select & copy all of the text you have
(Edit -> Copy).
3) Paste it into the web page - but listen: right after pasting, at the
bottom right corner of the new text, there is a small white box with a
clipboard/paper icon on it. Click that, and select Keep Text Only. The
reason is Word uses a bunch of tags for formatting that often muck
things up, and sometimes even reveal info about you. This is not good.
FP has a tool for fixing it - Tools -> Optimize HTML -> Remove Word
HTML etc., but that is just more clicking.
4) Select your text, match formatting, etc.etc. and save your edited
page..
5) The page is ready, now let's put it on the nav bar. First make sure
the folder view is on - View -> Folders... the screen is split left
(the folders area) and right (the editing area). On the tabs near the
top center of the editing area, the first tab is called 'Web Site' and
has a folder icon on it. Click it, and then click the 'Naviagation' tab
at the bottom center of the editing area. Your web will now appear in a
sort of hierarchy view. Look to the left, in the folders, and find your
new 'Agencies' page. Hold down the left mouse button on it, and drag it
into the Navigation view area AT THE SAME LEVEL as other pages that you
know are in the top nav bar. You'll see it connecting to different
pages as you drag it; don't release the mouse until it is connected the
same way other working pages in your nav bar are. That done, right
click on the Agencies page in the Navigation view, and select "Rename".
Type in the words that you want to appear in the nav bar.
6) Double-click the page you just dropped in the Navigation view - that
will start it opening for editing - but before it opens, it takes a
second to save the navigational changes that you have just made. Find
it once more on the left (folder) side, right click on it, and select
"View in Browser".
Alot of people get confused because the title of the page when you save
it and the title you give it in Navigation view are often two different
things. Also, banners and nav bars dont appear until the page is added
to navigation. A far more detailed explanation of navigation in
FrontPage is at:

Good luck, Debra, keep the group apprised of your progress. Send a
