Buster,
VFP 8.0 simply checks your tables' and databases' integrity more than earlier versions. There are commercial programs that can usually fix your tables, Abri Recover (http://www.abri.com/recover.html), XiTech's FoxFix (http://www.xitech-europe.co.uk/), and in some cases the old dSalvage will work. There are also free solutions on the UT (http://www.universalthread.com/) and even a fix-it-yourself technique on the Wiki - http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~NotATable~VFP or http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~MemoFileMissingOrInvalid~VFP. If you were proactive and have good copies of the tables/database stored off, then a product like Sonefield Database Toolkit is your answer (http://www.stonefield.com/).
